Guntur: District Collector I Samuel Anand Kumar said that 90 per cent of the district is in the Green Zone and small-scale industries, shops may open from 7 am to 7 pm in the Green Zone.

However, lockdown will continue in the containment zones. He was holding a videoconference with the RDOs, MPDOs and Municipal Commissioners on Wednesday.

Speaking on the occasion, he made it clear that there is no permission to open cinema halls, educational institutions, hotels, restaurants and gyms in the containment zones and non-containment areas.

He instructed the staff working in the government offices to attend to their duties from Thursday without fail. He directed the employees to wear masks. He suggested that the officials take steps to ensure that MNREGS workers maintain social distance at work places. He directed those above 60 years of age and children below 10 years not to come out.

He directed the officials to make arrangements to distribute house sites to the poor families on July 8 as per instructions of the government.

He said if land is not available, acquire land with the consent of the landowners and instructed the officials to speed up works relating to housing scheme. He urged the officials to take up with the officials, if they have any problems in land acquisition or layout development works.

Joint Collector P Prasanti (Development, ward secretariats) Joint collector AS Dinesh Kumar (revenue), district revenue officer NVV Satyanarayana were among those present.
