Help poor farmers get crop loans, officials told Joint Collector

Eluru: Joint Collector M Venugopala Reddy directed the revenue and agriculture officials to take all steps so that the poor farmers in the district get crop loan. He convened a videoconference with Tahsildars and agriculture officers from Collectorate on Monday. Speaking on the occasion, Reddy said they should ensure that every farmer who possess loan eligibility card gets crop loan.

Stating that so far 2.02 lakh farmers were issued with loan eligibility cards, the JC instructed the officials to give the cards to all eligible farmers in the district. He asked them to prepare a report with details of eligible farmers.

Informing that the district administration has taken up exercise to issue house sites to all the poor families, Reddy said that the machinery had already began the exercise of acquisition of land necessary for the purpose in a big way. Tahsildars should prepare the list of eligible beneficiaries from all mandals. He asked revenue divisional officials to come out with comprehensive reports on details of eligible poor families in Kovvuru, Jangareddigudem, Eluru and Narsapuram divisions.
