MEEKOSAM: Joint Collector unhappy over officials' attitude
Eluru: Joint Collector M Venugopala Reddy expressed his displeasure over the attitude of the officials in shying away from their responsibility of solving representations given by people at Meekosam programme by simply transferring the issue to another department or simply showing it as resolved.
Addressing the coordination committee meeting here on Monday, he said that while 204 representations were received from people during Meekosam on June 17, the officials wrongly showed in their report that 136 of them were resolved. Any representation can be said resolved when it is addressed as the people desired while submitting the representation, he said.
He said some officials have been lacking commitment to solve people's problems and showing zero reports. In any case the officials could not solve the petition by Friday of the same week, they can show the problem under pending category.
Justice should be done to the applicants who come with hope and confidence in the system. If the officials runaway from their responsibility, how can the problems be resolved, he questioned. He asked the officials to ensure all the unresolved petitions readdressed providing a solution to the applicants.
