People advised to stay indoors in noon hours
Kadapa: With temperatures hovering around 42 degrees Celsius for the last one week, District Collector Ch Harikiran reviewed the weather conditions with officials. The Collector advised people to stay indoors from 11 am to 4 pm. If necessary, people should come out with precautions like wearing cap or covering their heads with towel or cloth, he said, urging elderly not to move out of their houses as they may get affected by sunstroke and dehydration.
The Collector made an appeal to the voluntary organisations and philanthropists to extend their support to the administration by distributing water and buttermilk at bus stands, railway stations and public places. He directed the Medical & Health department, and hospital superintendents in their respective areas to provide treatment to the people if they are affected by sunstroke.
