SP Adnan Nayeem Asmi compliments Home Guards for services in Kakinada
Kakinada: The 57th Raising Day of home guards was organised at the East Godavari Police Parade Grounds here on Friday. While complimenting the services of home guards after inspecting a guard of honour from the contingent of home guards, District Superintendent of Police Adnan Nayeem Asmi said that the home guards system came into existence in the year 1962 during China War.
It indicates the importance of the existence of this system. Since then the services of these home guards were being utilised in Crime, Traffic, Intelligence, Railways, CID and emergencies. Now, they were on par with police constable system, the Superintendent of Police revealed.
Superintendent of Police Asmi said that recently the government hiked the salary from Rs18,000 to 21,300 and providing the facilities to the home guards. OSD A Hafiz, Additional SP VS Prabhakar, DSPs Apparao, S Muralimohan, M Ambika Prasad, K Kumar, Venugopal Naidu, B Ramakrishna and others were present on the occasion.
