SP insists on 4-wheeler driving licence to police in Chittoor
Chittoor: Each police should possess four-wheeler driving licence to discharge their duties in speedy manner, stressed Superintendent of Police Ch V Appala Naidu. A mega police driving licence mela was held at Chittoor Road Transport Office on Tuesday.
About 1,200 police personnel of all ranks representing Chittoor, Palamaner, Putthur, Madanapalle and Piler divisions have attended the mela with the documents for obtaining the driving licence. Deputy Transport Commissioner M Basi Reddy made the needful arrangements by deploying the needful men for conducting the driving licence test in a smart manner .
Speaking on the occasion, SP Naidu admitted that most of the police personnel of the district do no possess the driving licence due to various reasons, including lack of time to attend the tests.
``In the latest technological field where the development is witnessing in a racket speed, one should be well acquainted with all the faculties . There is stiff competition for any work or service in the present society. The police men should strictly adhere to the traffic rules and terms and conditions while driving the vehicles" he reiterated.
DTC M Basi Reddy made it clear that there is no exception for the police men to drive the vehicle without valid licence in any circumstances. He said that driving licence would be a must to claim accidental insurance .
