Hyderabad: Will focus on removing encroachments first says CN Reddy
"My primary focus is on removal of encroachments and widening of Rahmathnagar 'x' road," says the newly-elected corporator CN Reddy. A popular student leader, he received support from all sections of people and won the GHMC election with ease.
Reddy has a zeal to serve society and passion to go to the rescue of the needy. As soon as he won, he started to focus on immediate steps to be taken in the old slum area to develop it.
Explaining his primary focus, he says "I have observed a lot of encroachments in developing slum called Rahmathnagar. They happened illegally. My first action is against encroachments. In the next three months, my agenda would be on roads and encroachments to ensure comfortable space for residents of the division. Other focus areas are extension of roads, proper sanitation, replacement of old pipelines. A major target is to develop Rahmathnagar 'x' road."
Explaining major problems that came to his notice, Reddy observed that "the very old slum of Greater Hyderabad never seemed to be developing. Roads in the area were laid nearly 10 years ago. Overflowing drains, damaged roads, open garbage/dump yards, irregular water supply. among others. will be definitely monitored and solved with timely action.
The crossroad expansion, pending for two decades, and delayed road widening works have just started. They will be definitely completed in no time. "My vision is to provide all basic facilities to the residents of Rahmathngar. Overflowing drain is another issue making their lives miserable.
They can't come out and enjoy fresh air in the evenings. They are unable to go for walks; they can't even open doors because of the foul smell caused by overflowing drain. The situation should not be continued anymore and will definitely work on these issues," says the young corporator-elect.
Talking about new constructions, Reddy said "Rahmathnagar will get a sports park and a multi-purpose function hall and NIMSE. Road-widening is on the cards as tendering other formalities are underway to finalise the construction dates." On health and women, he promises to get one more Basthi Ddawakana to the ward which already has two such dispensaries serving patients with all facilities.
Last but not the least, he expressed passion to encourage unemployed youth to find some source of income. He has started employment stalls to create week-end gateway opportunities from different companies for youngsters, eagerly waiting for jobs.
