Govt bringing officials to people’s doorsteps: MP

Rajamahendravaram: A 5K Run was conducted here on Sunday, to bring awareness among people on the Janmabhoomi Maa Vooru programme. Urban MLA Dr A Satyanarayana flagged off the run at Government College that ended at Pushkar Ghat. Officials, students, youth and many others participated in the run.

Addressing the gathering, MP Maganti Murali Mohan said that the government was bringing in officials and elected representatives to the people’s doorsteps to resolve their issues. “Students need to come forward to start industries, as the government encourages entrepreneurs with subsidies and facilities,” he advised. It was told to be an opportunity for the students to generate jobs and a forum to prove their mettle.

Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has been putting in efforts to achieve Swachhandra Pradesh and has asked students to extend their co-operation in this regard. The urban MLA said there was need to bring awareness among people on sanitation with the run. He also advised the students to participate in the Janmabhommi Maa Vooru programme.

Mayor Pantham Rajani Sesha Sai said that the corporation was trying to get a good grade in the Swachh
Survekshan programme. Sub-Collector CM Saikanth Varma said the rallies serve as a medium to make people aware of government programmes.

Commissioner V Vijayarama Raju underlined the need of runs and rallies to involve people in the programme. A cash prize of Rs 6,000 was given to the first prizewinner, M Ramesh, Rs 4,000 for M Gandhi who secured the second prize and Rs 2,000 to the third prizewinners M Divya Bhanu and K Bhavani.
