SFI protest against summer classes by corporate colleges

Vijayawada: Charging the corporate and the private colleges with conducting classes in summer vacations, the Student Federation of India (SFI) members organised a protest at Board of Intermediate Education office here on Friday.

SFI state secretary Y Ramu alleged that the corporate and private colleges were conducting classes for Class X passed students in the name of bridge course even before the beginning of admission process.

He said that the same was brought to the notice of HRD Minister Ganta Srinivas Rao and the Regional Inspection Officer, but no action was taken against the management of the colleges who were conducting the classes violating the rules.

He alleged that the corporate colleges Narayana and Chaitanya had started the admission process leaving the parents of the students in confusion.SFI district secretary M Someswara Rao demanded that the government take action against the erring colleges.

SFI district president N Koti Babu, SFI district leaders Gopi, O Yesubabu, N Nageswara Rao, T Praveen, N Rajashekar, Rakesh and others were present.
