Mayor says allegations are political

Nellore: City Mayor Sk Abdul Aziz categorically stated that they had received lease amount of Rs 3.94 crore from the Prasad Gempex and the company has been making baseless allegations at the behest of some vested political interests.

Speaking to the media at the TDP office here on Tuesday along with the TDP district president B Ravi Chandra after the allegations levelled against him recently through booking a cheating case in Chennai, the Mayor said the company had paid Rs 6.04 crore to the farmers and the lease amount paid was Rs 3.94 crore.

He said they are ready to face the allegations and pay the entire dues openly if the company can show account copies of the Bank. “I had quit the company as director during 2015-16 and still take the responsibility to respond on the allegations. The company has yet to pay dues to the farmers. The complaint was only allegations and I am ready to reveal the facts in the Court,” explained the Mayor.

TDP district president B Ravi Chandra, who was also present in the media conference, said the allegations were only political and the Mayor informed me about the developments some time ago. The Company had to discuss the issues before an appropriate forum for resolving the issue, unfortunately, they approached the media which was not correct, he said.

Further, responding on the allegations of the Mayor, Chief Executive of Prasad Gempex P Venkata Ramana Murthy said they have complete evidence of bank records for every transaction and are ready to show them at any point of time. 

He said they are not political party to make allegations and the MoU for Rs 100 crore between the two firms will reveal the facts. He asked the Mayor to confine to his statements repaying the dues based on bank statements.
