Collector reviews arrangements for Sivaratri at Srisailam

Kurnool: District Collector S Satyanarayana, in Srisailam on Monday, held a review meeting with the officials on the arrangements of Sivratri Brahmotsavams. He has said that the ensuing three days are crucial, and officials have to be very alert in making arrangements for the convenience of devotees, who visit in large numbers.

The officials have to ensure that no untoward incidents take place during this period. The Collector has instructed the District Panchayat Officer Parvathi to take adequate steps to maintain sanitation and to deploy sufficient number of staff to take care. Water supply camps have to be arranged along the way for the convenience of devotees, who come to Srisailam on foot, he said.  

Satyanarayana has directed the District Supplies Officer to initiate stringent action on the commuters, who sell eatables on higher prices. He asked the officials to maintain cleanliness at Shikaram, Nandi Circle, Paladhara & Panchadhara, Istakameshwari, Kailasadwaram, Nandi Mandapam and Pathala Ganga besides providing safe drinking water and enhancing police force.

He further directed the medical team to keep adequate stock of medicines to meet the needs of increasing number of devotees. The officials are deployed to monitor the arrangements according to zones and they have to discharge their duties with due responsibility, he said.

Later, the Collector accompanied by Superintendent of Police (SP) Gopinath Jetty, Temple EO Narayan Bharat Gupta and RDO Hussain Saheb went around the temple and inspected the arrangements. Zilla Parishad CEO Eshwar, Chief Planning Officer Anand Naik, Tahsildars and other officers were present at the meeting.
