Collector vents ire at officials
Srikakulam: The district-level officials of different departments faced the wrath of District Collector K Dhanunjaya Reddy for their delay in disposing pending petitions. He reviewed pending petitions received through Grievances Cell with officials here on Thursday. Speaking on the occasion, he vented his ire at officials over pending applications, petitions which were submitted by the people.
The district stood in last place in disposing of pending petitions due to lethargic attitude of some officials, he lamented. The Collector sets February 19 as dead line for solving all the pending applications and petitions otherwise action will be taken against officials concerned.
The Collector said that charge memos will be issued to officials basing on pending petitions with the department from next week onwards. The Collector disappointed over poor response from officials in disposing pending applications and petitions though reviews were being conducted every week.
The Collector explained that more number of applications and petitions are pending with the District Rural Development Agency (DRDA), Housing, Integrated Child Development Society (ICDS), Panchayat Raj (PR), municipal and mandal parishad development officers (MPDOs) at mandal-level. If progress is not shown in disposing petitions and applications, action will be taken against the officials concerned, he warned.
