AP tops in processed food exports

Chittoor: Industries Minister N Amaranatha Reddy said on Saturday Andhra Pradesh stood first in the entire country in exports of processed food. He made these remarks after laying foundation stone for the District Industries Centre (DIC) building here. The DIC building will be constructed at a cost of Rs 3 crore. Addressing the gathering, the Minister said Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is committed for the development of the state.

The AP government has entered into an agreement with 713 companies worth Rs 4.39 lakh crore, creating an employment opportunity to 11 lakh aspirants, Reddy stated, adding permanent buildings for DICs will be constructed in East Godavari and Guntur districts soon. 

“Chittoor is suitable for establishing the industries and entrepreneurs are showing interest to set up small scale units in the district,” the Minister said. Amaranatha Reddy has mentioned that instructions were given to the officials concerned to grant single window permits to new units, besides sanctioning power connection, land and other requirements as per the Right to Services Act. The Minister assured people of arresting unemployment and migration of labour to other states. He appreciated the Chief Minister for striving hard to attract national and international companies to the state. 

ZP Chairperson Girvani Chandra Prakash felt that there was an absolute need to establish the industries in the western part of the district. DIC General Manager Anil Kumar Reddy has explained the progress of various industries in the district. Deputy Director for Industries Basha, MLC B N Rajasimhulu, Mayor K Hemalatha, TDP district president P Nani and others were present.
