Municipal schools celebrate anniversary

Nellore: City Mayor Sk Abdul Aziz flagged off the rally of Municipal High School students at Gandhi statue in connection with launching of the anniversary celebrations of Municipal Corporation on Friday. Municipal students across the district took out a massive rally from Gandhi statue to AC Subba Reddy Sports Complex.

Nellore Municipal Corporation is organising anniversary celebrations in Municipal Schools for three days from March 9 to 11 in the city. About 13,000 students from 67 municipal schools across the district are going to participate in the sports and also in cultural activities. Sports would be conducted for two days in AC Subba Reddy sports complex, said the Mayor.

Prizes would be distributed to the students who excel in sports at valedictory function to be held at V R  College grounds, he said. Mayor explained that this is the first time conducting anniversary celebrations of municipal schools in Nellore the civic body. Municipal Corporation had formed committees with Corporation authorities, Corporators and teachers to organise the celebrations nicely.

A friendly match will be organised between Commissioner and Mayor’s Team in AC Subba Reddy Stadium. Commissioner Alim Basha, Corporators Wahida, Rajani, Mallikarjuna Yadav, Penchala Naidu, Prasanth Kumar, Prasanth Kiran, Venkaiah Yadav, former legislator M Sridhar Krishna Reddy and others were present.
