Minister exhorts women to become entrepreneurs
Chittoor: Industries Minister N Amaranatha Reddy has exhorted women to become entrepreneurs by setting up small and medium scale industries. He asked them to make use of incentives and subsidies provided by the State government.
Addressing the gathering after inaugurating the administrative block at NPS Government Degree College for Women here on Saturday, the Minister stressed on the need for overhauling the present education system. He has stated that the students should focus on developing practical skills while pursuing education so that they will land in jobs soon after completion of the course.
About women welfare, the Minister said that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is committed for the empowerment of women. Reddy gave a call to each woman entrepreneur to provide employment to 100 women. He assured of developing Chittoor district as an industrial hub. Chittoor MP Dr N Sivaprasad has announced a financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh to NPS Degree College from MP's Local Area Development (MPLAD) funds.
ZP Chairperson Girvani, city MLA D A Satyaprabha, Mayor K Hemalatha, District Collector P S Pradyumna, NPS Degree College Trust Board member N P Venkateswara Chowdary and others spoke. Later, the Minister distributed the meritorious certificates to the students.
