Thunderstorms likely in state

Hyderabad: All districts of coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema will be lashed by thunderstorms with gusty winds at isolated places on May 16, the Met department bulletin warned on Tuesday. It said there were thunderstorms accompanied by gusty winds across the State during the day. According to the bulletin, rain occurred at a few places in the State, with Narsipatnam in Vishakhapatnam district recording 6 cm of rainfall.

The chief amounts of rainfall (in cm) were Atchampet (Guntur district) 5, Racherla (Prakasam) 4, Polavaram (West Godavari), Paderu (Vishakhapatnam), Tanakal (Anantapur), Atmakur (Kurnool) 3 each, Pulivendula (Kadapa), Podili (Prakasam) 2 each. There was 1 cm rain each in Mandasa, Cumbum, Vepada, Konakanamitla, Marripudi, Araku Valley, Tiruvuru, Bestavaripeta and Markapur.
