Transparency must in distribution of books
Kurnool: District Collector S Satyanarayana has instructed the officials to ensure transparency while distributing textbooks and notebooks to the students of government schools. He flagged off an RTC bus carrying study material to distribute to various government schools across the district on Thursday.
Speaking on the occasion, the Collector warned of initiating stringent action against the officials concerned if the study material found in private schools. These books have to be supplied for free of cost to the students of 1 to 10th standards. This year, the government has printed the pages with QR code of every lesson. He advised parents and teachers to download Deeksha App in mobile.
This app will display the theme of the lesson in mobile when scanned the QR code printed on the pages. This is the first of its kind that has been launched in Andhra Pradesh, he stated, adding transporting of books in RTC busses was also the first time. Kurnool is the first district in Rayalaseema that the books are being transported through the RTC busses.
The three divisions, Kurnool, Adoni and Nandyal municipalities will receive the books through RTC busses. Around 90 per cent books are likely to be received by June 12. The received books would be immediately transported to MRC Bhavans from where those should be supplied to the students. He directed the officials concerned to immediately update online about the status of distribution. RDO Hussain Saheb, DEO Tahera Sultana, RTC Regional Manager Chandrasekhar, District Textbooks Manager Samuel Pal and others were present.
