Seven arrested by Guntur urban police; property worth 62 lakh recovered
Guntur: Guntur urban police arrested the accused in the sensation day light robbery at Penumaka and recovered a cash of Rs 55.2 lakh cash and 210 grams gold gold from their possession. The value of the total property recovered is estimated to be Rs 62 lakh.
According to Guntur urban SP, Ch Vijaya Rao, accused Siva Parvathi, daughter-in-law of Kamala, prepared a plan and executed it when her mother-in law Kamala was alone in the house at Penamaka on Thursday.
On suspicion, the police closely observed her movements. During the questioning, she confessed to the crime. When her father in-law Meka Vema Reddy sold his land, she planned to steal the cash. When her mother in-law Kamala was alone in the house, she implemented her plan with the help of another six accused.
Siva Parvathi prepared plan with the help of her sister Lakshmi Prasanna at Venigalla in Guntur district 10 days ago. Based on information, while the accused were sharing cash at a house in Vidyanagar in Guntur city on Friday, the police caught them and recovered the cash and gold.
Police arrested Meka Siva Parvathi, K Lakshmi Prasanna, V Sitarami Reddy, V Venkata Reddy, Ch Raju, Ch Mallikarjuna Rao and T Gopi Chand. Police are yet to arrest another accused Sai in the case.
