Stolen gold worth 3 lakh recovered
Tirupati: The Central Crime Station (CCS) cops recovered stolen gold ornaments worth Rs 3 lakh based on the information provided by an interstate habitual offender B Venkatesh.
According to CCS DSP Ravisankar Reddy, Venkatesh, who belongs to Salem in Tamil Nadu, was arrested four days ago as his fingerprints matched with three robbery cases that took place in 2015. Fingerprints of the accused were collected related to a murder case on March 25, 2018.
The DSP stated the accused had threatened the victims and inflicted knife injuries on them while robbing the houses. During the interrogation, he confessed to committing house robberies. He pawned gold ornaments at a shop near Chinna Baazar street. Several cases were registered against the accused in Tamil Nadu state, the DSP revealed. He was sent to judicial remand.
