No need to worry on Supreme Court verdict on appointments of DGPs: Chinarajappa
Amaravati: Deputy chief minister and home minister N Chinarajappa said that as the state government appointed the Director General of Police as per law, there was no need to worry with the Supreme Court judgment on appointments of DGPs.
Speaking to reporters at Secretariat on Thursday after participating in a review meeting on law and order with police officers, Chinarajappa said the appointment of DGP was done as per law and added the government was contemplating to recruit home guards as there was need for them in police stations. He said the representation of BJP on law and order in the state was politically motivated.
“It is ridicules to seek President’s Rule in the state citing law and order problem. It is nothing but conspiracy against Andhra Pradesh. The BJP is conspiring against the state along with YSRCP and Jana Sena,” he alleged.
DGP R P Thakur said there was no need to worry about law and order in the state and added the department would act tough over the security to women. Home secretary A R Anuradha and law and order IG Harish Kumar Gupta participated.
