Adarana-2: Rs 55 cr worth assets distributed
Kadapa: District Collector CH Harikiran said government introduced various developmental activities with the aim to improve living standards of backward classes, and artisans in the district.
While participating in state government’s sponsored Pedarikam Pai Gelupu (Adarana-2) scheme here on Monday, he said as part of this initiative various tools worth Rs 54.89 crores are to be distributed 7,016 beneficiaries in Kadapa, Jammalamadugu and Rajampet areas in the district. The Collector said tools are being supplied to the beneficiaries at 90 per cent subsidy and they have to contribute just 10 per cent on any scheme.
He said that in the past, there was much delay in lending loans by bankers under Economic Support Scheme. After initiative taken by Chief Minister, loans are being disbursed immediately after the beneficiary applied for it. He urged the beneficiaries to utilise the government schemes in proper manner to eradicate poverty.
While explaining various developmental and welfare schemes like pensions, subsidy rice, loan waiver to farmers, extending financial support to the SHG’s , un employment dole, etc TDP district president R Srinivasulu Reddy said even though government is facing serious financial crises, it extended Rs 350 crores financial support to the 31,000 people among BC communities through the corporations under various schemes from 2014 to 2017 in the district.
He said it is proposed to allocate another Rs 330 crores for 18,700 in 2018-19 financial year. JC-2 Siva Reddy, SC Corporation ED K Sri Lakshmi, Municipal Commissioner M Lavanna and others were present.
