Municipal Administration and Urban Development official inspects development works

Kurnool: Principal Secretary, Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD), R Karikal Valaven has inspected ongoing development works here on Thursday. He was accompanied by District Collector S Satyanarayana, Commissioner of Municipal Corporation Dr CB Harinath Reddy and other officials concerned.

The MA&UD official visited the Old Pump House at Sunkesula Road and inspected the sewage treatment plant and also inspected another water treatment plant at Gangamma Temple near Jammi Chettu. He examined gymnasiums and walking tracks in the municipal parks located in Chanakyapuri and Doctor’s colonies and interacted with the residents.

Residents of Doctor’s Colony have requested the Principal Secretary to provide another gymnasium in their colony. Accepting their request, he instructed the Municipal Commissioner to take steps for setting up a gym. Later, Karikal Valaven inspected the NTR houses which are under construction. The Superintending Engineer (SE) of TITCO informed the Principal Secretary that 10,000 houses were sanctioned to Kurnool district.

Around 8,868 beneficiaries have been identified and the list has been sent to banks concerned for getting loans, the SE stated and added that 2,500 houses are ready for opening. He even explained to Karikal Valaven about the internal roads and water supply being provided to beneficiary houses. In-charge SE Rajasekhar, Municipal Engineer-2 Ramana Murthy and other officials were present.
