Workshop on Saint Ramanuja works held at RSVP
Tirupati: As a preparatory exercise to bring to limelight the works of Saint Ramanuja, the most important exponent of Visistadvaita, Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeetha (RSVP), a Deemed Sanskrit University here held a workshop, on Thursday.
Scholars of Vaishnava philosophy from various institutions attended the meet to prepare a road map under the special project for digitising, editing and publishing of manuscripts related to Saint Ramanujacharya as part of the millennium birth anniversary of the saint and philosopher.
RSVP Vice-Chancellor V Muralidhara Sharma said that the Ministry of Culture, Government of India sanctioned the project with an aim of publishing and digitising the unpublished manuscripts related to Ramanujacharya, involving reputed scholars to mark the 1,000th birth anniversary celebrations of the saint.
He sought the scholars to procure all the unpublished works of Ramanuja to take them for printing and digitising on priority basis. Prof KE Devanathan cited many of the important manuscripts related to Ramanuja’s works in the libraries across the country while seeking RSVP take efforts to get the copy of them for printing and digitising under the project while other participants also gave the details of the libraries having Ramanuja’s works still in manuscript form.
RSVP Registrar and project coordinator GSR Krishnamurthy said that the Sanskrit university is committed to get all the available unpublished manuscripts of Ramanuja works for editing and publishing them to preserve and promote the Hindu theologian spiritual philosophy. Professors C Ranganathan, HoD of Visistadvaita, C Raghavan, PTGY Sampatkumaracharyulu and others were among those participated in the workshop.
