Kishori Vikasam-II a novel initiative: Collector S Satyanarayana
Kurnool: District Collector S Satyanarayana said that conducting awareness programmes about the changes during adolescent age among girls and boys is a novel programme.
This kind of programmes need to be conducted very frequently as they will instil knowledge among girls and boys on life skills, taking apt decision, good habits and moral values besides many other things, he said and wished that these programmes would bring drastic changes among boys and girls. He participated as a chief guest for Kishori Vikasam-II programme conducted at Jeeva Sudha in Venkayapalli on Tuesday.
In the two-day district-level training programme, CDPOs, ACDPO, doctors, lawyers, teachers and representatives of voluntary organisations have attended. ICDS Assistant Project Director P Vijaya said that the main aim of the awareness programme is to infuse knowledge on menstrual hygiene, nutrition during adolescent age, child marriages and abuse, and trafficking.
There are around 1.55 lakh students pursing high school education in government and private schools. All these students would be imparted knowledge on various aspects, she stated. CWC Chairperson Manohar Raju, DSP Venkatadri and others participated in the programme.
