More focus on job creation
- 29,388 secured jobs in 3,285 small and medium scale firms: Satyanarayana
- Says another 5,850 will be placed in cement companies soon
Kurnool: District Collector S Satyanarayana has participated as chief guest for 70th Republic Day celebrations organised at Police Parade Grounds here on Saturday. He received the guard of honour from the police personnel.
Later, the Collector has unfurled the tricolour flag and saluted it.
Addressing on the occasion, Satyanarayana has extended his wishes to the families of freedom fighters and people of the district. He enlisted the welfare schemes and developmental works taken up by the district administration.
He stated 3,285 micro, small and medium scale industries set up with an investment of Rs 1,018 crore have generated employment to 29,388.
The Collector mentioned another 5,850 will get jobs in Ramco, Prism and UltraTech cement factories. Colourful performances by school children have enthralled the officials and onlookers.
The tableau of the DRDA department has won first prize, SSA’s second place and third prize to Agriculture department. On the occasion, around 664 employees from various departments have received commendation certificates from the Collector.
District Superintendent of Police (SP) Dr Fakkeerappa Kaginelli, city MLA SV Mohan Reddy, Joint Collector P Ravi Subash and other district officials have participated in the Republic Day celebrations.
