Assembly polls: EVMs arrive in Gadwal

Gadwal: To ensure everything is placed in time, the Election Commission has sent EVMs and VVPATS to Alampur constituency of Gadwal district on Friday.  

Joint Collector Niranjan, Revenue Development officer Ramulu Nayak, Deputy Superintendent of Police Shakeer Hussain and other officials received the election machinery and stocked them at the Women’s Degree College in high security. 

With election commission officials fast preparing for conducting early elections they are ensuring all the necessary election equipment like Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), Voter Verification (VV) PATS and others are available in time in all the constituencies.  

“We have received 680 VVPATS, 810 EVMs and 630 control units. We are verifying all these equipment and checking their functioning and after ensuring they are functioning properly we will stock them safely at the Women’s Degree College and set up tight security,” informed Niranjan, Joint Collector Gadwal. DSP Shakeer Hussain has been given the charge to check and verify the machinery.
