Admin grants permission for sand mining in Karimnagar
Nizamabad: District Collector M Ram Mohan Rao said that the permit has been granted for sand mining for the benefit of the people of the district.
A district-level sand committee meeting was conducted in the District Collectors chamber on Saturday.T he Collector said that four applications were received for sand mining in the assigned lands in Mandarna village of Bodhan mandal under the government administration.
Collector Ram Mohan said that accordingly, a joint inquiry under the aegis of the relevant departments of Revenue, Irrigation, Agriculture, Mines and others was conducted for sand mining. M Ram Mohan Rao said proposals would be forwarded to the TSMDC stating that it would be possible to extract sand in seven and a half acres.
Sand will be extracted from the land after the TSMDC signs an agreement with the respective land owners. Rao said sand will be sanctioned only for the construction needs of the people of the district. Similarly, the government will be sanctioning the development and construction activities, the Collector said.
Ram Mohan Rao, however, added that sand requirements of the individual cannot be granted in bulk. People of the district should apply online if they need sand. The district administration will grant sand after considering their requests, he added.
