Indefinite fast by Hazipur victims kin enters day 2
Bommalaramaram (Yadadri-Bhongir): Demanding speedy trial and death penalty to Hazipur murders' accused Marri Srinivas Reddy, the indefinite fast launched by the family members of victim girls, Kalpana, Manisha and Shravani, at Bommalaramaram entered the second day on Friday.
People from all quarters, including women organisations, people's organizations and leaders of political parties have expressed their solidarity with the agitating family members. Congress women wing leader Ganga Bhavani, party senior leader V Hanumantha Rao visited the dharna camp and expressed their support to the parents of the victims.
Hanumanth Rao demanded the government to provide proper transport facilities to people of Hazipur and establish a fast track court as demanded by the agitating families and the villagers.
BC Sangham State president, in his statement, said there was no value to the lives of neglected sections under TRS government. He questioned the double standards of government in providing justice to forward caste and other caste girls.
"Sangham will elevate the issue of Hazipur at national level if the State government fails to provide justice to the family members of the victims," he said.
Meanwhile, on behalf of government, Bommalaramaram Tahsildar Aruna met the family members and enquired about their demands. She assured them that she would bring all their demands to the notice of superiors for necessary action.
