Maintain sanitation in municipalities: Collector

Peddapally: District Collector Devasena on Saturday ordered the municipal officials to concentrate on maintenance of sanitation in the municipalities in the district. In a meeting in the Collectorate, Devasena ordered the members of Self Help groups, ANMs, Asha workers and Anganwadi workers to visit every household under the municipalities and create awareness on maintaining the surroundings clean and neat.

She also directed them to motivate the people to observe every Friday as dry day and to create awareness among the people so that they can separate the dry and wet wastes separately using two waste bins and to avoid using of plastic carry bags.

It is to be noted that Collector Devasena earlier had released Rs 10 lakh funds to Peddapalli municipality and Rs 5 lakh each to Manthini and Sulthanabad municipalities from the Crucial Balance Funds for conducting the sanitation programme in the respective municipalities.

Receiving the orders from the District Collector Devasena, the Raghavapur primary health centre staff along with ANMs and Asha workers under the supervision of HEO Uma Maheshwar visited various colonies in the Peddapalli town and created awareness among the people about the maintaining of surroundings clean and tidy.
