Medak: Heavy rain forecast at isolated places in Telangana from July 18 to 21. The Met department bulletin said on Wednesday that under the influence of the upper air cyclonic circulation lying over the north-west Bay of Bengal adjoining coastal Odisha and Gangetic West Bengal, a low pressure area is likely to form over coastal Odisha and its neighbourhood during next 48 hours.

The upper air cyclonic circulation at 5.8 km above the mean sea level over the east-central Bay off the Myanmar coast has merged with the above system. Meanwhile, as the Southwest Monsoon has been weak over Telangana in the recent past, rain occurred at isolated places in Ranga Reddy, Sangareddy and Hyderabad districts during the last 24 hours ending at 8.30 am on Wednesday, said the bulletin.

The chief amounts of rainfall (in cm) were: Ibrahimpatnam (Ranga Reddy district) 3, Saroornagar (RR) 2, Kondapur (Sangareddy), Hyathnagar, Kondurg, Chevella, Maheswaram, Manchal (all in RR), Golkonda (Hyderabad) 1 each.
