Non allocation of houses to beneficiaries: TDP to knock the doors of HC

Nellore: Former Mayor Abdul Aziz stated that they are approaching the High Court and filing writ on Monday as the ruling party hadn't allocated the houses constructed during TDP regime.

It maybe noted that the TDP government had sanctioned around 30,500 houses for Nellore city and out of them around 8,600 houses were completed by the time of elections. Another 20,000 were in various stages of progress. In Janardhan Reddy Colony of Venkateswara Puram area, 4,800 houses have been sanctioned in the first phase and 6,600 houses were sanctioned in the second phase.

The beneficiaries have also paid their share as per guidelines of the government ranging from around Rs. 500 to Rs. 1 lakh depending on the plinth area of the house. Subsequently, more than 35,000 people have paid the beneficiary share and have been waiting for the allocation.

After YSRCP came to power, the Minister had visited the Colonies and assured the people of allocation. But there was no further development on the issue.

Former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu conducted housewarming for 4 lakh houses across the state in February and 4,800 houses were among them in Janardhan Reddy Colony. They handed over keys of 600 houses to the beneficiaries.

Former Mayor Abdul Aziz informed that they had decided to approach the High Court on the issue. He said they had allocated the houses; banks have provided loans and the agreements were also done and asked how the new government can take a decision stalling the move. He said now the banks are mounting pressure on the beneficiaries and said they are going to approach the Court for justice to the people which will be filed on Monday.
