Mayor moots development works worth Rs. 35 crore

Nellore: City Mayor Abdul Aziz said they are taking up works worth Rs. 35 crore in 3rd division in the city. He laid foundation for road works in the division on Sunday and said they had already completed works worth Rs. 7 crore and they have already taken up drains’ works with Rs. 87 lakhs and are inviting tenders for works worth Rs. 86 lakhs. Works estimated at Rs. 20 crore under System Improvement Plan (SIP) and Rs. 6 crore under SC sub plan will also be taken up shortly, he said.

Mayor further said that they would complete all works within next two months. He agreed that many roads were  damaged due to ongoing UGD and water works in the city and said people have been facing inconveniences due to bad roads. He urged the people to bear with such inconveniences till completion of works. 

He also participated in birth anniversary celebrations of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad at old ZP Conference Hall and said they would organise the event in the presence of huge public, teachers and students next year. He distributed cheques of Rs. 15 lakhs to each student for their education in abroad. Local leaders and officials were present.
