Prayer hall works to be completed by December

Nellore: Mayor Abdul Aziz said the construction of huge prayer hall at Bishop’s house for the convenience of devotees would be completed by the Christmas. After inspecting the construction works, the mayor interacted with the Bishop on Sunday. 

Speaking on the occasion, Abdul Aziz said they had assured last year for construction of huge prayer house and now started the works. The structure would be having huge space, halls and good roof and other facilities for the prayer activities, he said and added they would complete all works by December and handover to the authorities before Christmas festival.

Mayor also said the ruling party is giving top priority for the requirements of Christians and the civic body had sanctioned Rs 2 crore through Minority Development Corporation for modernising the burial grounds in the city meant for Christians.

He also said a huge burial ground is being constructed at Allipuram in 5 acres of land where pedestrian way, drinking water, toilets, rest rooms, and greenery would be available. He also said all burial grounds in the city were also being improved with facilities.

Stating the parks in the city would be developed on par with metro cities, he said they would be modernising Mahaboobkhan Park with Rs 1 crore. He supervised the development works taken up at Rs 75 lakhs along with municipal officials. 

Mayor said 4 toilets for visitors and 2 toilets for people who attend for their works in the Collectorate would be constructed. He also said they would construct shops for the street vendors who have been relying on wall of the park.
