Nellore: Mayor Abdul Aziz has alleged Opposition leaders are politicising the ‘Housing For All’ programme in the city. He, along with beneficiaries has visited the Janardhan Reddy Colony where around 5,000 houses were built on Sunday evening and explained quality of the structure and safety measures they had taken while constructing houses.

The Mayor said filing petition in the High Court of Hyderabad by aides of the city legislator Anil Kumar Yadav has created tension among the beneficiaries due to apprehensions that the land is located on riverbed. Subsequently, the High Court vacated the petition, he informed. Beneficiaries were happy over completion of works and are getting ready for housewarming ceremony, he added.

Aziz informed to the beneficiaries that they had selected 62 acres close to the existing site for constructing another 7,000 houses shortly. He appealed to the beneficiaries not to believe in baseless allegations of the opposition leaders.

All works related to the ongoing structures would be completed by the December. He said Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu will hand over some houses to the beneficiaries by end of this month. Former legislator M Sridhara Krishna Reddy, NUDA Chairman K Srinivasulu Reddy and others were present.
