Tap connection to every house in villages: MLA

Akiveedu: Undi MLA Vetukuri Venkata Siva Ramaraju has said that a sum of Rs 20 crore had been sanctioned for tap connection to every house in all villages of Akiveedu mandal. He presided over a review meeting with officials and Akiveedu mandal leaders at Mandal Parishad office here on Wednesday.

Addressing the meeting, the MLA said that I-Max and multiplex shopping complex would be constructed soon at Doravari Cheruvu in Akiveedu village. He suggested officials and Sarpanches in the mandal to complete all development works during the summer season.

He said almost all villages were now facing drinking water problem in the mandal and to overcome the problem alum treatment plants would be set up in the mandal. He said soon Rs 8.4 crore would be spent to construct underground drainage and Rs 1.8 crore for bypass road construction. The funds were already sanctioned for these works.

Agriculture Marketing Committee chairman Motupalli Prasad, mandal president Vani, ZPTC member Manne Lalita Devi, Sarpanch G Ganapati, Mandal Revenue Officer Nagarjuna Reddy, mandal vice-president Rama Rao, MPTC member Bolla Venkatrao participated in the meeting.
