GHMC takes up mega saree distribution
Hyderabad: The distribution of Bathukamma sarees commenced in Hyderabad on Wednesday and 6.92 lakh women beneficiaries who have food security cards would receive sarees from 632 centres across 16 circles of the city.
A meeting was held with zonal, deputy commissioners and DPOs in this regard on Tuesday evening. GHMC Commissioner Dana Kishore had said that saree distribution would commence in the presence of local corporator, MLAs, MLCs, MPs and other public representatives. The distribution would be done at the centres which were selected in the past. Respective deputy commissioners would inform the details of centers to beneficiaries, he said. He advised authorities to give importance to disabled and senior citizens during the distribution.
He urged authorities to provide necessary arrangements such as water and security to people. GHMC commissiner urged the officials to ensure that process is completed with coordination of ration dealers. Dana Kishore said that full-scale distribution should be done in a planned manner from December 21 and prior information should be given to beneficiaries on the date of issue through slips. Zonal commissioners Musharaf Ali, Raghuprasad, Srinivas Reddy, Shankaraiah, Srinivas Reddy and others attended the meeting.
