A degree holder running two schools, K Ravi Chary has been active in BJP party youth wing. He says he plunged into politics to be always amongst people and meet all their needs and ensure all-round development of the 87th division of Ramnagar.

Expressing happiness over getting elected, he says that his first focus after taking oath of office would be to sit with the officials concerned to prepare proposals for the replacement of age-old and worn-out drainage pipelines. He notes drainage water mixing with the drinking water is a major problem being faced by the residents in different colonies, as the existing pipelines are of 30 to 50 years of age.

Since they are iron pipes, they seem to have rusted and damaged and water is seeping into the ground. Also, drain water is mixing up with the drinking water, making people get contaminated water through their piped drinking water lines. This needs to be addressed, keeping in view the health and safety of the division residents, he added.

This apart, residents have also been complaining about not getting sufficient water. "Drinking water is supposed to be given for an hour. But, residents say that they are getting it only for 45 minutes. Lack of proper pressure is causing this," Chary says of the issues.

Another major demand from the people is installation of CCTV cameras, the reason being there is a growing nuisance of young people and others using street corners as open bars, at several places such as Baghlingampaly, housing board colonies in MIG, HIG, Suryanarayana Nagar. The contaminated water complaints have been mainly coming from Sivastanpur, Ambedkar Nagar, SRT colony etc, Chary added.
