Interstate burglar held, property worth 16.52 lakh recovered

Khammam: Police have arrested an interstate house burglar and recovered stolen property worth Rs 16.52 lakh from his possession on Friday. According to Commissioner of Police Tafseer Iqbal, one Sirisetty Ravichander, a resident of Rajahmundry in Andhra Pradesh, was taken into custody as he was found suspicious during vehicle inspections by CCS police at NTR Circle under II-Town police station limits.

During interrogation the accused confessed to his crimes. He was found to be involved in ten house breaking cases under the limits of different police stations in Sathupally, Wyra and Khammam district.

He had also committed thefts at Vizag, Penuduruthi, Gajuvaka, Dhuvada and PM Palem, the CP said. Gold ornaments weighing 509 grams, 3.13 kilograms of silverware and a motorbike were recovered from the possession of the offender.

The Commissioner appreciated the efforts made by CCS Inspector J Vasantha Kumar, head constable Sd Lateef, SI B Naresh and several constables in nabbing the offender and presented rewards. DCPs D Muralidhar and I Pooja, ACPs G Venkat Rao and others were present.
