Another mandal necessary for urban area

Rajamahendravaram: Rural MLA Gorantla Buchaiah Choudary has said that a proposal was under consideration for another urban mandal in the city to cater to the needs of the people.

Speaking to ‘The Hans India’ here on Monday, he informed that at present one urban mandal was functioning and another mandal was needed as the city was growing in all aspects. Since 1983, the city was developed in a planned manner. The city was developed mainly at the time of 2003 Godavari Pushkarams and from then the city was developing, he claimed.

All the roads were developed, drinking water supply was regulated, drains were widened, lighting facility was provided in every nook and corner of the city. Meanwhile,the Godavari bund was developed and two parks were also constructed on the bund, which was now attracting lakhs of people. 

All the bathing ghats also constructed, he explained.He informed that during 2015 Godavari Maha Pushkarams also many development works were executed and bathing ghats were developed. Anyhow, there was a need to develop the city more as it was becoming hub in the fields of medical, education and business, the MLA averred. 

Along with the city, the surrounding rural areas also developed and link roads laid in rural areas. Development was a continuous process and it would continue, he added.
