Medak sizzles at 43 deg C; respite likely soon: Met

Medak: Hakimpet IAF centre in Medchal-Malkajgiri district recorded 1 cm of rainfall, even as Medak district experienced hot weather with the town recording 43 degrees Celsius, the Met department bulletin said on Thursday.

The highest maximum temperature of 45 degrees Celsius was registered in Adilabad and Ramagundam. The other day temperatures were: Nalgonda, Nizamabad & Nalgonda 44 deg C each, Khammam, Mahbubnagar & Bhadrachalam 43 each, Hanamkonda 42, Hyderabad 41, Hakimpet & Dundigal 39 each.

According to the bulletin, heat wave conditions are very likely to prevail at isolated pockets in all districts of Telangana on May 24, 25 and 26. Public have been advised not to expose directly to sunlight and take necessary precautions due to heat-wave conditions.

The forecast said light to moderate rain or thundershowers are very likely to occur at isolated place on May 24 and 25, while dry weather will prevail across the State on May 26 and 27. No large change during the period May 28-30 is the weather outlook. The bulletin said on Thursday heat wave conditions prevailed at isolated pockets in Adilabad and Peddapalle districts.
