Medak sizzles at 450 C
Medak: Heat-wave conditions prevailed at a few pockets in Medak and Ranga Reddy among seven districts in Telangana on Wednesday. The Met department bulletin said isolated rain occurred in the State.
The highest maximum temperature of 46 degrees Celsius was recorded in Adilabad and Nizamabad. While Medak registered 45 degrees Celsius, there was 42 deg C in Hakimpet and 41deg C in Dundigal.
The bulletin warned that the heat-wave conditions are very likely to prevail at isolated pockets in Telangana on May 30 and 31. Public are advised not to expose directly to sunlight and take necessary precautions due to heat wave.
The forecast said light to moderate rain or thundershowers are very likely to occur from May 30 to June 2 at isolated places in Telangana. No large change during the period June 3-5 is the weather outlook.
The rain is being caused by an upper air cyclonic circulation at 3.1 km above the mean sea level lying over west- central and adjoining north-west Bay of Bengal off north Andhra Pradesh-south Odisha coasts.
According to the bulletin, a trough extending up to 1.5 km above the mean sea level runs from east Madhya Pradesh to north interior Karnataka across Vidarbha, Marathwada and madhya Maharashtra.
