Medak district begins to hot up once again

Medak: Heat-wave conditions prevailed at isolated pockets in Medchal-Malkajgiri among five districts of Telangana during the last 24 hours ending at 8.30 am on Thursday. The Met department bulletin said rain occurred at isolated places across the State. The highest maximum temperature of 44.8 degrees Celsius was recorded in Adilabad. While Medak registered 41.3 deg C as the day temperature, Dundigal and Hakimpet had 41 each.

The forecast said light to moderate rain or thundershowers are very likely at isolated places in Telangana from June 7 to 10. The bulletin warned that thunderstorms with gusty winds ranging from 30 to 40 kmph and lightning are likely at isolated places in Telangana on June 7. It said heat-wave conditions are likely to prevail at isolated pockets over North Telangana on June 8 to 10.

Public have been advised not to expose directly to sunlight and take necessary precautions due to heat-wave. With favourable conditions like a low-pressure area and upper air cyclonic circulation, the Southwest Monsoon is very likely to set in over Kerala around June 8.
