Severe heat wave conditions prevail in Medak

Medak: Severe heatwave conditions prevailed at isolated pockets in Medak district, with 42.7 degrees Celsius as the day temperature during the last 24 hours ending at 8.30 am on Wednesday. Hakimpet and Dundigal registered 37 deg C each as the maximum temperatures.

The highest day temperature of 44 degrees Celsius was recorded in Ramagundam and Adilabad 44, the Met department bulletin said. With hot weather conditions continuing in the State, the Southwest Monsoon is likely to be delayed in the State. Normally the rainy season commences between June 10 and 12.

According to the bulletin, dry weather is very likely to prevail across the State on June 13. The forecast said light to moderate rain or thundershowers are likely at isolated places from June 14 to 16. No large change during the period June 17-19 is the weather outlook.

The bulletin warned of severe heatwave conditions prevailing on June 13 at isolated pockets. Heatwave conditions are likely to occur in some parts of 15 Telangana districts during the day and on June 14.

Thunderstorms with gusty winds (30 to 40 kmph) and lightning are likely to occur on June 15 and 16 at isolated places in the State along with heatwave conditions at a few places in 15 districts. In view of the hot weather public have been advised not to expose directly to sunlight and take necessary precautions.
